Sure, here’s a simple recipe for making spring rolls:

 

Ingredients:

  • 10-12 spring roll wrappers
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup bean sprouts
  • 2-3 spring onions, thinly sliced
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Filling:
  • Heat some oil in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
  • Add shredded cabbage, julienned carrot, sliced bell pepper, bean sprouts, and spring onions to the pan. Stir-fry for a few minutes until the vegetables are slightly softened but still crisp.
  • Season the vegetables with soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine. Remove from heat and let the filling cool down.
  1. Assemble the Spring Rolls:
  • Take a spring roll wrapper and place it on a clean, flat surface. Spoon about 2-3 tablespoons of the vegetable filling onto the bottom third of the wrapper.
  • Fold the bottom of the wrapper over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll tightly to enclose the filling completely. Seal the edge of the wrapper with a little water to ensure it stays closed. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  1. Fry the Spring Rolls:
  • Heat oil in a deep pan or wok over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add a few spring rolls at a time, seam side down, and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Use tongs to remove the spring rolls from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  • Repeat until all the spring rolls are fried.
  1. Serve:
  • Serve the spring rolls hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, or peanut sauce.
